Those Awkward Teenage Years #PSLphaseoff

Phase 3 in life is "Those Awkward Teenage Years". But I must say, after comparing pictures from the ages of 5-11 and now from the ones that have been submitted for the teenage years, most of our contestants had their 'awkward stages' early on and are now progressing to beautiful young women.

Notice, I said most. And I am mostly referring to myself; Phase 2 was all about big, I went backwards from 'big' in Phase 3...you'll see. haha

You be the judge :)

These are the results from Phase 2:
Now the top 8 have advanced to Phase 3! And the ones collecting the most votes will go to the grand finale: Most Embarrassing Volleyball Moment Caught on Film.

So go to this link ----> http://poll.fm/51k3v
This round is also 24 hours! You have until tomorrow at 11am!

Vote, vote, vote!

How do you thank your awesome teammates for being so awesome?? You make mexican dinner for them of course!

Lindsay and I wanted to thank our team for being the great humans that they are. We have genuinely loved this group of girls from day 1. They took us in with big smiles and hugs and we have have been non stop laughing ever since. And what better way to do it than by making them our all time favorite dish: FAJITAS!
How many Filipinos does it take to eat 1 Fajita?
All smiles, all the time

This night wasn't any different. It was great to be able to COOK again! After living in a hotel for 3 months you forget how great it is to cut up meat and vegetables and actually cook them with your own hands with the spices you want on a stove. So refreshing!

We brought the food and the girls brought the entertainment, per usual.

We learned how to face dance. Something I have never heard of, and then proceeded to have a face dance off. Because that's what we do here in the Philippines; we make everything a competition by putting 'off' on the end. Face off, phase off, dance face...off. Naturally.
Faces of  the face dance captured haha

The meaning of PSL (Philippine SuperLiga) is forever changed. This is the poster child for PSL=pocket sized libero. IN my pocket.
My first blog post here becoming real.

And finished with the best cake, Mango Bravo. My mouth is still salivating thinking about it the next morning.
Princess Mango just couldn't wait!
I love these girls and I can't believe today is our last day on the court all together. Talk about the fastest season ever. It truly is #morefuninthephilippines
Ever wonder what Jhecky would look like with blonde hair?
Or Lindsay with black?

I'm going to miss these hugs.

Which elementary school photo is your favorite? #PSLphaseoff

24,324 votes in Phase 1! I can only say, you people rock my socks. That is awesome.

Round 1 results look like this:
Round 2: is Elementary School Days and aren't you all in for a treat! The theme for this round seems to be BIG; big hair, big glasses, big bows, big eyebrows; BIG.

Apparently big hair was all the rage at this point in life, a lot of the hair doesn't fit in most of the frames! haha

My new favorite game is matching current photos with the throw back ones, I have been laughing for days on these ones and I am sure you will too!

The top 11 advanced to this round!

The next phase in life is Awkward Teenage Years, and trust me you want to see these. Vote vote vote!! Keep spreading the word, let's break 25,000 votes!

This round is only 24 hours and will end tomorrow, Friday, at 11am!

And because it is Thanksgiving and I am feeling generous I am letting one of my favorite Filipinos back in:
I've been calling this girl my "Pocket Sized Libero" since day 1, and now we FINALLY have photo proof:
Where's Jheck? IN my pocket!

And finally, HAPPY THANKSGIVING from the Philippines! This year my turkey came in the form of isaw, chicken intestines and my pumpkin pie was puto bumbomg, rice cake. And the thing I am most thankful for is finding this beautiful country and the people in it.

Last night we had an out of town game in Binan Laguna, our last regular season game. It was our first time playing outside of Manila and it was a great venue with great fans! I don't know how many handkerchiefs, cell phones and bags I signed yesterday and selfies I took with screaming fans. It was very cute.
"Ate Sarah Ate Sarah" my new favorite way to be addressed :)
After the game, the mayor treated us to dinner. When I walked in to the room it hit me that the next day was Thanksgiving and this was my Thanksgiving dinner. The tables were set up and decorated in white cloth and their was a full buffet set up. It had a very Thanksgivng esque feel to it.

During Thanksgiving you get to sit around a big table with your friends and family, eat drink and be merry; which makes it my favorite holiday. Last night was just that, Filipino style.

I tried new food and laughed with my teammates till I cried. Over and over again.

It may not have been a typical Thanksgiving meal that I am used to but these girls sure make my heart a happy one. I am so thankful for them and this country that my depression of not having a typical Thanksgiving dinner is no longer.
Holy Thankfulness. I love my Awesome Teammates. <3

Philippine SuperLiga PHASE OFF

Oh the phases of life we go through..
The past month there has been a little competition going on in our league called the "Philippine SuperLiga Face Off". It's exactly as the name indicates, you vote on which face you like the best. Classic.

The competition was set up in bracket form, matching 32 players in the SuperLiga against each other. Each round the voting was open and whoever received the most votes advanced to the next round. We went from the Round of 32, to the Sweet Sixteen, to the Elegant 8, Foxy 4 and now we are down to the finals!
And I am a very proud teammate, as both of the finalists are from #TEAMCIGNAL! How awesome is that?
What are teammates for? #teamPocketSize vs. #teamStunner

Who will be Miss. Philippine SuperLiga 2014? You can vote here: Face Off

Well we've been so greatly entertained by this competition that we're just not ready for it to be over. A group of us were talking and we came up with a similar competition. But this time, instead of voting on our present time beautiful faces, we wanted to add some fun to it.

We're bringing #tbt, Throw Back Thursday, to life. And calling it: Phase Off.
Each round will be a different 'phase' in life.

Round 1: Baby photo
Round 2: Elementary School Days
Round 3: Those Awkward Teenage Years
Finals: Most Embarrassing Volleyball Moment Caught on Film

It will go like this:

On Sunday, November 23rd, if you are a player in the PSL and would like to participate in the competition, you can either tweet your best/cutest/most embarrassing BABY PHOTO, newborn to 3 years old, (whatever you think will get the most votes) with the hashtag: #PSLphaseoff or if you do not have twitter you can email your photo: sarahammerman10@outlook.com

From the photos submitted, we will then create a bracket and send out a link where you can vote. As each participant advances to the next round we will collect their next phase in life photo.

We've had so much fun this year in the Philippine SuperLiga, it has truly been a treat. Going in to the last week I can't think of a better way to cap it off! I hope you all will have fun with this and join in! Let's see just how great the Social Media Capital of the World is :)

Stay tuned for the voting links on Monday and help spread the word!

Salamat!
